Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament
Come to Me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for yourselves, for my yoke is easy, and my burden light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
For at least eight hundred years and perhaps up to fourteen hundred years devout people have kept vigil with Christ in the Eucharist. The Sacrament focuses our attention and gives assurance to our faith that He is with us. Devoutly to approach Christ hidden in this mystery is to become renewed in the Christian life. To show both exterior and interior signs of reverence is to be lifted beyond the commonplace, to remember spiritual realities as Saint Paul advises. silence, reverence, gratitude, loving devotion can flood the soul if one is blessed to do this for an hour. Certainly it fulfills the invitation of Christ, "could you not watch with Me one hour." (Mt. 26:40)
O Jesus, I believe that Thou art in the Most Blessed Sacrament! Come into my heart, I Embrace Thee, oh, never leave me.
O My God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love You, and I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust, and do not love You.
Most Holy Trinity, I adore You, My God, My God, I love You in the Most Blessed Sacrament!
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with love, broken by my ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still, accept the consecration that I make to You of all that I am and all that I have. Take every faculty of my soul and body. Draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Heart, and there, as I can bear the lesson, teach me Your Blessed ways.
O Jesus, I believe that Thou art in the Most Blessed Sacrament. Come into my heart. I embrace Thee, oh never leave me. May the heart of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament be praised, adored, and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world even to the end of time.
Lord Jesus by the Eucharistic love make me courageous, not afraid. Instill your words into my heart, "fear is useless" what is needed is "trust" for my cross, you yourself carry. Jesus with your very own strength, strength given to us in abundance in the Blessed Sacrament.
All praise to you Lord Jesus truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Lamb of God, the bread of life, the friend of man, the light of the world. By the light of your Eucharistic love, cast out all the darkness from my mind and heart that I may see clearly the height and depth of Your personal love for me, with this light, Lord Jesus increase my faith perfect my hope.
Praise be to you, Jesus, the Good Shepherd in the Blessed Sacrament, the fulfillment of Your Promise of remaining with us always. You are the Guardian of my soul. Keep me from sin that I may live in accord with God's will. Teach me to understand the value of suffering, for suffering purifies the soul, for the grace to follow in your footsteps, leading to the Glory of everlasting joy.
All praise, glory, and honor to you, Jesus, personally present and fully alive in the most Blessed Sacrament, where all who are thirsty come and drink from the fountain of salvation. Without seeing You with the senses, I believe in You, in the light of faith, rejoicing in Your true presence, for here You welcome me with open arms and loving heart and with words first spoken long ago, "Blest are they who have not seen and have believed."
All glory and praise to you, Jesus, in the most Blessed Sacrament. Enlighten my mind that I may understand that the Blessed Sacrament is not a thing but a person, You my Savior, Emmanuel, waiting for me here with tenderness, longing for me in this Sacrament with all the affection of your Gentle Heart, calling me to come to You.
All Glory to you, Lord Jesus, for your message today is the same message you spoke to Peter. These are the words you spoke in silent inspiration to everyone who comes before you in the Blessed Sacrament, "Fear not! Take courage. It is I, do not be afraid."
